Every March, we recognize and appreciate the contributions of social workers, who play a vital role in improving the well-being of seniors all across the country. This month highlights the impact of social workers in various fields, including healthcare, education, and nonprofit organizations. Social workers are a vital part of many organizations, offering invaluable support to seniors facing health-related challenges in their lives. They advocate for those in need, provide resources, and create strong networks of support, ensuring seniors receive the help they deserve.

One vital service that social workers often connect seniors to is Meals on Wheels. At Meals on Wheels South Florida, we deliver nutritious meals to seniors throughout Broward County, offering more than just a meal—we provide a sense of security and connection. For many seniors, having a weekly delivery of meals ensures they are eating well, while also receiving a friendly visit and safety check from a trained volunteer. Social workers often coordinate these services, ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to the nutrition and support they need to maintain their independence.
